The Benefits of Manjur Cutlery
Manjur4d is a traditional Punjabi metal, which is known to be a strong and sturdy alloy. It has been used as a metal for swords and spear since the days of Mughal and British era. This indestructible metal is often coated with zinc to give it an anti-corrosion property.
Manjur4d was originally a small village, situated in the lower region of the Ganges (ourcing from Manjirgarh), near Patiala. The steel smelting process took place here, and the alloy began to be used for making various arms and weapons during the rule of Akbar's regime in the Mughal era. However, Manjur4d was discovered by a British officer, later on this alloy was known as 'cast steel' or 'pistol steel'. The name, suggests that, this steel had a different properties when compared to normal steel, which made it an ideal metal for use for a martial arts sword.
It had begun its journey as a small scale business in Patiala, but slowly it moved to Punjab and began to manufacture weapons and other accessories, such as knives. This small company eventually turned into a giant steel manufacturer and power house. Today, Manjur4d products are available in almost every part of the world. Although, the technology behind the steel is similar to other metals, such as aluminum and carbon steel, the properties of Manjur4d, and the durability of Manjur alloy have made it more ideal than the others. Below are some of the advantages of Manjur.
The alloy is often coated with zinc to give it a tougher look and feel. This gives it a better resistance to corrosion. The steel is very hard and durable, which makes it suitable for cutting and striking purposes. The hard and tough nature of Manjur also ensures that the blade sharpens easier and remains sharper longer.
This type of steel is also very flexible and malleable. This allows it to be shaped into different shapes, which include Oben Large (Ogon) and Oben Small (Oben). It can be shaped into practically any shape possible. It has the ability to bend without breaking, which further increases its versatility.
The alloy is a very tough material. It is able to resist corrosion to a very high degree. However, it is still susceptible to hammer blow and it is advisable not to carry heavy items on it.
Manjur is light in weight compared to other steels. Because of its light weight, Manjur is very easy to handle. Some people prefer the traditional appearance of Manjur but its lesser weight has made other prefer it for its practicality. For example, it does not break too easily. It is also relatively easy to weld. All in all, Manjur blades are popular due to their versatility, strength and their overall quality.
There are several types of Manjur blades available. These include: Kukri, Ulflex and Bahram. The blades are classified as premium cutlery based on their composition. Premium cutlery like Manjur comprises steel with higher carbon content. This ensures that the blade wears longer and gives better performance.
