The ancient art of brush building involves weaving branches and leaves into lattice-like walls. Filler materials, such as animal dung or clay-bearing soil, are used to provide strength and thermal mass to the walls. In addition to plant materials, wattle and daub can be used in non-load bearing walls as well. Native cultures use animal dung for its waterproofing properties.
